San Diego

Ah the end of Robert's sabbatical.  Robert had 7 weeks off for being a pastor at Sun Valley for 7 years.  Great job Robert!!  The last of the 7 weeks we took a vacation with the two of us and Emma (too small to leave behind).  It was FABULOUS!!  We stayed at a place called Cardiff by the Sea Lodge bed and breakfast.  We saw the ocean from the bed in our room. 

 We did lots of stuff while we were there.  Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of all the cool thing we did.  We hiked Torrey Pines which is the cliff/mountain on the beach.  We hiked down a cliff to the beach and then up a more scenic route for the way back.  We saw whales out in the Pacific which was cool. 

 Emma did great.  She was in the sling the whole time.  I don't think you can see her head in the picture.  She slept during the hike and was awake to take in the smells of the beach.

Emma loved the beach.  She didn't go into the water but loved it when we would walk up close to it.  Robert and I went sea shell collecting for the boys.  They enjoyed their gifts. 

Other fun adventures we went on included dinner with Braden and Emily, dinner all alone!!- thanks for Kim my sister driving down to watch Emma for a bit, naming the seals at Children's Pool in La Jolla, dinner with live entertainment in Carlsbad, wine tasting and just chillin on the beach.  It was fabulous.  We ran into another pastor and his wife we knew at the same tiny hotel we were at.  What are the odds?

A BIG THANKS to all the grandparents and Bre and Scott for taking such good care of the boys while we were gone.  We really can't thank you enough!!  Some of them got to realize what happens when you give our kids too much juice.  Fun huh?
